New quilts from Brisbane

Lesleigh Lesleigh1

Lesleigh from Westlake in Brisbane is moving house and decided to have these quilts machine quilted during her move.  The large quilt is being quilted in the budget I Love It trailing hearts e2e machine quilting pattern and the cot quilt with the budget meander e2e.

Hexagons in today’s quilts

The first quilt is from Jenny of Toowoomba and features blocks of hexagons in the quilt design.  Jenny chose the budget I Love It trailing hearts e2e machine quilting pattern for this quilt.  The blue and cream lap quilt from Margaret at Kenmore is being quilted in the daisy chain e2e machine quilting pattern in a cream thread.

Some smaller quilts today at KoolKat

A contrast between these two small quilts today.  The applique quilt comes from Elaine in Doyalson, NSW and is being quilted with the petal power e2e machine quilting pattern.  The dinosaur quilt is the last of some purchased kits we had on the KoolKat stall some years ago. It comes from Meryl at Gatton and is being quilted with the prickle patch e2e machine quilting pattern.

KoolKat at Scout Group Quilt Show in Ipswich next month

Samples of new craft products range

The KoolKats will have a stall at the inaugural Queens Park Scout Group Quilt Show which will be held in Ipswich on Friday-Saturday 13-4 March. The venue is the Uniting Church Hall cnr Glebe and Green streets, not far from Queens Park, Ipswich. Opening hours are 9am to 4pm for the two days.  Kathy has been busy in her workshop this year, so our stall will have a new look featuring a new range of hand-made craft products.

Year of the Cat ( & the occasional Dog)   Kathy of KoolKat Quilting has been busy working on a new theme of individual craft items for 2015.  She is pursuing a feline theme, but working across various media that includes ceramic sculpture as well as fabric products. The KoolKat stall will be quite different this year, and the first outing showing some of these works will be the Inaugural Queen’s Park Scouts Quilt Show.  We will also be attending the monthly Queen’s Park craft markets in Toowoomba, but more about that when we are ready to have our first stall.  The occasional dog? – that is part of an exhibition piece called “True Blue”.  It has been completed and is awaiting a decision on whether it will be accepted for entry in its first intended showing.

Carmel from Woodend in Ipswich sent us this quilt based on Kathy’s Kathmandu quilt pattern.  It is being quilted in the daisy chain e2e machine quilting pattern and will have the binding completed.

Judy, The Gap, Brisbane

This blue and white quilt from Judy at The Gap in Brisbane has been sitting in her cupboard for some years, but now she has decided to have it quilted.  She chose the budget meander e2e machine quilting pattern in a pale blue thread.
