The first three quilts are the second set of 3 from the Ferguson family of WA  The first quilt is being quilted with the plush e2e machine quilting pattern, the second with fern gully and the last with flower puff.  The pink quilt was made by Meryl from Aloomba and is being quilted with the alfresco e2e pattern.  This quilt also has a label and has been completed with our binding service.

The first quilt comes from Pat from Adelaide who asked for the happy times pattern and complete blinding for this cot quilt. The next 3 quilts are part of a dozen quilts from the Ferguson family at Jane Brook in Western Australia.  The orange quilt is being quilted with the fireflower pattern, the fish quilt with the ebb and flow pattern, and the final quilt with the nautilus pattern.  Val from Toowoomba also brought 3 quilts, and these are being quilted with the circle meander and meandering leaves budget patterns.

The first quilt is a cot quilt from Cheryl at Aubigny and this is being quilted with the budget leaf meander pattern.  The next 3 quilts are from Blackall as part of the 3 for 2 machine quilting offer.  Margot made the cream quilt which is being quilted with the deb’s feathers pattern.  Lee made the Japanese theme quilt which is being quilted with the maru Bishamon (Japanese circles) pattern, and her floral quilt is being quilted with the petal flower pattern.

This quilt made by Anita from Brookstead is being quilted with the budget ribbon candy machine quilting pattern.

The first 3 quilts were made by Glenda from Mt Rascal.  The first is being quilted with the starlight e2e machine quilting pattern, the second with sunlight e2e, and the third with paisley feather pattern.

The next three came from quilters at St George.  The first is being quilted with the budget meandering leaves pattern, the next with the roseleaves pattern, and the last quilt with the deb’s swirls pattern.

The first quilt was made by Lydia from Middle Ridge and is being quilted with the forever flower pattern.  The middle quilt is from Margaret at Pittsworth and is being quilted with the Baptist fan pattern.  The last quilt is from Carolyn at Brassall and is being quilted with the daisy chain pattern.

The first three quilts were made by Janet from Mt Ommaney who took up the current 3 for 2 machine quilting offer. The purple quilt is being quilted with the budget meander pattern, the second with the meandering leaves pattern and the grey quilt with the dragonflies e2e pattern. Susan from Oakey brought the red and black quilt which is being quilted with the budget I love it trailing hearts pattern.  The alphabet quilt comes from Betty from Toowoomba and is being quilted with the plush pattern.

These three quilts were made by Lynn from Toowoomba and are part of the 3 for 2 machine quilting offer this month.  The first quilt has been quilted with the nautilus e2e machine quilting pattern, the second with Baptist fans and third with the plush quilting pattern.

Once you have cut the 45 degree angle off your strips, join them together so that the 45 degree angle stays true. You will need to sew from the angled end each time. This will give you a parallelogram shaped section as shown in diagram 2. (The straight edge may be on the left or the right side. Doesn’t matter which.) Don’t forget to press seams open.

Then you join the first and last strip together, making a tube. It will look a bit funny and out of shape at first. But once you lay it flat it looks like diagram 4. You can trim the uneven edge at this stage if you wish.

You cut the tube open (in a vertical direction, along the fold) with scissors (so as to cut just one layer) and then cut this long piece into 2 halves (same direction as first cut.)

Once you’ve done that, follow the instructions to cut 8 strips 6 1/2” wide across the stripes. (4 from each half.) Mix them up to get a layout you like, and join the 8 together, matching joins but keeping the top and bottom edges relatively level. (The top and bottom edges will be a bit uneven, don’t worry about that)

Trim straight across top and bottom, then add borders as shown.

Once you get the idea of making the tube, the rest is easy.

Anne-Maree from a property near Yaraka in central western Queensland sent four quilts during our machine quilt special this month.  The first quilt is being quilted with the petal power e2e machine quilting pattern, the second with the circles and lines pattern, the third with roseleaves, and the final quilt with the nautilus machine quilting pattern.  Anne-Maree also asked for KoolKat’s complete binding service to finish her quilts.
